The 1892 estate of Brainard H. Warner — founder of Kensington — restored as fourteen modern condominium residences.

Warner Mansion
RESPONSIBLE REDEVELOPMENT

History preserved.
Living, redrawn.

For more than a century, the Warner Mansion has remained deeply connected to the story of Kensington — first as the family seat of town founder Brainard H. Warner, and later as a landmark woven into the civic and social life of the community. Over generations, the property became a familiar place of gathering, care, and neighborhood connection before entering a thoughtful new chapter of preservation and residential living.

Warner Circle Mansion Condominiums, LLC acquired the estate in 2024 with a commitment to preserving the property’s architectural character while thoughtfully preparing it for modern living. Careful attention has been given to restoring and preserving many of the estate’s original architectural features, honoring the legacy of the original 1892 Mansion and the 1914 Carriage House.

What now stands is fourteen condominium residences inside two historic shells — every exterior detail original where possible, all systems new. The result is a way of living unavailable anywhere else in the region: a true historic estate, engineered for the next century.

THE SETTING

Modern residences,
historic setting.

Warner Mansion stands on Warner Circle in the heart of historic Kensington, Maryland — a National Register district founded by Brainard H. Warner in 1890. The estate is woven into a community that retains the cadence of a nineteenth-century rail town: tree-lined lanes, antique shops along Howard Avenue, the original train depot, and the Warner Circle Park itself.

WARNER CIRCLE PARK

Steps from your door — the original 1.5-acre park preserved by the Warner family in 1893.

KENSINGTON MARC

LONGEVITY · WELLNESS

A long, well
lived life.

Warner Mansion is designed for residents who plan to stay. Seven principles guide every decision — from the air you breathe to the floors you cross — so the estate supports the way you want to live for the next thirty years.

01
PARK-SIDE LIVING

Every residence opens onto Warner Circle Park — a 1.5-acre canopy preserved by the Warner family in 1893 and now woven into daily routines: morning walks, evening laps, weekend markets.

02
DAYLIGHT & AIR

Original double-hung windows restored to operate. Cross-ventilation engineered into every floor plan. Generous ceiling heights and south-facing exposures throughout.

03
QUIET CONSTRUCTION

Acoustic floor and wall assemblies (IIC 60+) and insulated party walls. Mechanical systems specified for whisper operation. The estate is designed to feel still.

04
HEALTHY MATERIALS

Low-VOC finishes, no urea-formaldehyde cabinetry, MERV-13 filtration in every residence. Reclaimed heart-pine flooring restored without chemical strippers.

05
MOVEMENT AT HOME

Curbless wet-room layouts in primary suites, lever hardware, blocked walls for future grab-bars. Full elevator access in both buildings — the estate is genuinely livable for a lifetime.

06
COMMUNAL WELLNESS

The garden room conservatory, the rebuilt rose garden, the catering kitchen for resident dinners. Shared spaces designed to draw residents out of their units and into one another's company.

07
BUILT TO LAST A CENTURY

Solid stone counters, bronze hardware, copper flashings, slate roofs. Every assembly specified for a hundred-year service life. A building that ages well is the foundation of a life that does too.

A WORD FROM KARL VOGLMAYR

Meet the
developer.

"We do not build new buildings. We rescue old ones — and only the ones worth rescuing."

Karl Voglmayr founded Washington Landmark Construction in 2006. Trained in Vienna and Washington, his firm has built a reputation around a single discipline: the conversion of significant historic structures into livable modern residences. The Gymnasium at National Park Seminary, the Power Plant at National Park Seminary, the Mount Vernon Triangle Carriage Works — each is now a residential building still bearing its original name.

The Warner Mansion is the firm's most personal commission to date. It is the largest historic residential conversion in Montgomery County and the only one operating inside two historically registered structures simultaneously.
